FIRE (Foothill Reinforcement, Intervention and Enrichment) promotes a safe-school environment and an atmosphere of peer support as we recruit junior and senior students to participate as student mentors during the FIRE advisory period. These "FIRE Crew" leaders receive training in organizational strategies, leadership skills and peer interaction.
FIRE Crew leaders run "New Student Orientation" before school begins; a combination of large group assembly, small group bonding activities and a school tour (Link Crew model).
From training and orientation responsibilities to donating half of their lunch time each week, FIRE Crew leaders earn an estimated 70-80 community service hours each year.
Applications are released in March followed by a general information meeting in the weeks before Spring Break. Completed applications with support materials are due a week before Spring Break. FTHS Calendar
