Deciding to mentor younger students shows compassion, caring, character and commitment. FIRE Crew leaders come from all backgrounds, interests, and groups. Our younger students need to see role models who look like them and can understand the worlds in which they move.
FIRE promotes a safe-school environment and an atmosphere of peer support as next year’s junior and senior students participate as “student mentors” during the FIRE period. (70+) FIRE Crew members are given special training and unique opportunities as they volunteer time to help to create a more inclusive campus.
This is a BIG, non-flexible commitment. Do NOT overextend yourself as you NEED life balance.
